We live in a visual landscape dominated by images generated by artificial intelligence, a presence that questions the relationship between the artisanal and the artificial. Is it still possible to reconcile human creative error with algorithmic precision?
The AI\IA series was born out of this tension, choosing the fanzine as a space for discussion: a free and democratic format, capable of hosting experimentation and the encounter of different languages. Each issue will be a sixteenth in which two artists, with different techniques and sensibilities, will interpret the same theme, staging a dialogue that does not seek to establish hierarchies but to open up possibilities. The encounter-clash between the two artists takes place on the centre page of the zine, a veritable common ground of paper.
The first issue is dedicated to water: a fluid, changeable substance in constant motion. A symbol of the dynamics that animate contemporary visual culture and an invitation to navigate between different imaginations, convinced that publishing can still be a critical and generative space. The artists who explore this theme are Ludovica Fantetti, with her pastel illustrations, rich in texture and poetic charge, and Pesci Miserabili, who uses artificial intelligence to represent anthropomorphic figures with fish heads that question us about our inner miseries.
